(a) Hydrogen chloride solution in water turns blue litmus red and conducts electricity while in toluene it does not because the solution of hydrogen chloride in toluene is covalent in nature which indicates the absence of 'H' in toluene.
(b) HCI gas is neither combustible nor it supports combustion.
(c) (ii) Hydrogen chloride gas gives a white precipitate when reacted with silver nitrate solution acidified with dilute nitric acid.
