Solution: 1 Mark each

(a) Sum of the angles should be equal to ${360}^{\circ }$

${110}^{\circ }+{60}^{\circ }+{40}^{\circ }+x^{\circ }={360}^{\circ }$

${210}^{\circ }+x^{\circ }={360}^{\circ }$

$\Rightarrow x^{\circ }={360}^{\circ }-{210}^{\circ }={150}^{\circ }$

(b) Let A and B be two angles making a complementary angle pair and A is greater than ${45}^{\circ }$.

A + B = ${90}^{\circ }$

B = ${90}^{\circ }$ − A

Therefore, B will be lesser than ${45}^{\circ }$.
