Solution

(i) Oxygen occurs in nature in the form of diatomic molecules and triatomic molecules. A diatomic molecule of oxygen consists of two atoms (O2) - the oxygen, we breathe. A triatomic molecule of oxygen has 3 atoms of oxygen unite into a molecule instead of the usual two (O3) – the ozone, which protects the earth from harmful UV radiation’s from the sun.

(ii) Noble gases occur in the mono atomic state. Molecules of many elements, such as Helium, Argon are made up of only one atom of that element.
