Question

A iron piece of 1kg is heavier or a cotton of 1kg is heavier? Explain

Open in App
Solution

Both are of the same weight as they weigh but, cotton occupies more space than iron i.e. volume of 1 kg cotton is greater than that of 1 kg iron.

On Earth 1kg iron would be heavier.
Density of cotton is less than iron so it would have more volume.
So 1kg cotton will displace more air particles than iron.
