A ….. is almost incompressible.

Solution

Properties of solid:

  1. Solids have a definite volume, fixed shape, and free surfaces.
  2. Since the intermolecular force is strong, the molecules in solids cannot move. Thus it has a fixed shape and volume.
  3. Because of their fixed shape, solids cannot flow.
  4. Solids cannot be compressed easily because the molecules are closely packed and the intermolecular space is small. Thus, the intermolecular force is the strongest in solids.

Hence, A solid is almost incompressible.
