Solution

Let age of A be A years,
age of B be B years
age of F be F years
age of S be S years
ATQ, A = B + 2 ........(1)
F = 2A ......(2)
B = 2S ........(3)
F - S = 40 ........(4)
Substituting equations (2) & (3) in (4),
2A - B/2 = 40
=> 4A - B = 80 .........(5)
Solving eqn (1) & (5), we get
3A = 78
=> A = 26
