Solution

Ray OA is incident at A with critical angle iC and its angle of refraction will be 90o. For other ray if incident angle is more than ic it will get total internal reflection from the surface so will not come out from liquid
So disc of diameter d is required to stop the rays from O out of liquid
tanicd/2hortanic=d2hd=2htanic
sinic=1μ=PH (From figure)
B2=H2+P2
B=μ21
tani=PB=1μ21
d=2h×1μ21
