A kite in the shape of a square with a diagonal 32 cm and an isosceles triangle of base 8 cm and sides 6 cm each is to be made of three different shades as shown in figure. How much paper of each shade has been used in it?

ABCD is square
Both diagonals are equal =32 cm (each) also diagonals bisect each other at right angle
AC=32 cm & BP=PD=322=16 cm
area of (ABC)=ar (ADC)
=12(32)×16=256 cm2
and area of ΔDEF
=s(sa)(sb)(sc),s=8+6+62=10 cm
=10(108)(106)2
=85 cm2=8×2.236=17.88 cm2
required areas are 256 cm2,256 cm2,17.88 cm2
