Solution

Total number of kites =1500

Number of sold kites =275

Step 1: Subtract the ones

Given : ThHTO1500-275

As 5 can not subtracted from 0,

so, take 1 carry from tens

now, 0 becomes 10 ( as 1carry taken from tens )

First subtract ones 10-5=5,

Write 5 under ones column

Step 2: Subtract the tens

0 becomes 9 in hundreds ( as 1 carry taken by ones)

Next subtract tens 9-7=2,

Write 2 under tens column

Step 3: subtract the hundreds

5 becomes 4 in hundreds ( as 1 carry taken by tens)1

Next subtract hundreds 4-2=2,

Write 2 under hundreds column

Step 4 : Subtract the thousands

Next subtract 1-0=1

Write 1under thousands column

So we get,

Number of kites left =ThHTOCarryover49101500-2751225

Hence, the required solution is 1225
