$\Rightarrow$ Let number of days labourer did work $=xdays$

$\Rightarrow$ Then number of days he was absent $=(30-x)days$

$\Rightarrow$ Amount for days he worked $=60x$

$\Rightarrow$ Amount cut for days he was absent $=10(30-x)=300-10x$

According to the question,

$60x-(300-10x)=1700$

$60x-300+10x=1700$

$50x-300=1700$

$50x=1400$

$x=\frac{1400}{50}$

$\therefore$ $x=28days$

$\Rightarrow$ Absent days $=30-28=2days$

$\therefore$ A labourer remain absent for $2days$.
