Let the height of the tree be x.
The height of the object and its shadow are directly proportional.
Therefore, $\frac{15}{12}=\frac{x}{14}$
$\Rightarrow 15\times 14=x\times 12$
$x=\frac{15\times 14}{12}=17.5m$
