Question

A lamp rated 100W at 22V is connected to the main electric supply. What current is drawn from the supply line if the voltage is 220V.

Open in App
Solution

Current in lamp is power/voltage=100/22=4.545Amp

Now as the voltage is becoming 22/220=1/10 of the supply voltage so current in bulb should be 10 times to that of supply line i.e., current in supply line=4.545/10=0.4545 Amp
