A large drum produces a louder sound than a small drum. Why?

Loudness is the degree of sensation produced in by a sound. And it depends on three factors -

  1. Amplitude of the vibration,
  2. Area of vibrating body, and
  3. Distance between source and listener.

Larger the area of the vibrating body, the louder the sound.

That is why a larger drum produces a louder sound than a small drum.
