Question

A length L=15 cm of flexible tape is tightly wound. It is then allowed to unwinding as it rolls down a fixed inclined that makes an angle θ=30 with the horizontal, the upper end of the tape being fixed. Solution

Acceleration of rolling object is given by a=g sinθ1+K
For disc K=0.5
Also given, θ=30o
Acceletation a=10×sin30o1+0.5=10×0.51.5=103 m/s2
Using S=ut+12at2
where u=0 and S=15 cm=0.15 m
0.15=0+12.103t2
t=0.3 s
