Given that,

Acceleration of lift a=2m/s2

We know that,

Acceleration of ball relative to lift = acceleration of ball relative to ground – acceleration of lift with respect to ground

a=10^j(2^j)

a=8^j

Now, from equation of motion

s=ut12at2

s=0+12×8×t2

t2=12

t=12s

Hence, the time take after which ball will strike the floor is 12s
