Solution

The correct option is C μg=tani

Applying laws of reflection at interface,
i=r
Since incident ray is perpendicular to the refracted ray,
r+90+r=180
r+r=90
r=90r=90i
Applying Snell's law at the interface,
sinisinr=μg
sinisin(90i)=μg
sinicosi=μg
tani=μg
Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
Why this question?
Always remember the relation tan i=μ, for the condition of reflected ray is perpendicular to refracted ray in medium.
