Convex lens


Light ray passing through the focus, hits the first lens (convex) and becomes parallel to its principal axis. This ray is parallel to the principal axis of the second lens. If this ray has to pass through principal axis after hitting the lens, then it should pass through the focus of the second lens. This means that second lens should be a converging lens.
Therefore, the second lens is a convex lens.
