Solution

The correct options are
B The point of intersection of the line with the given line is (1,0)
D The equation of the line is y=0
Let the line which passes through origin and make an angle π/4 with the line xy+1=0
is AB

Let slope of line AB=m2

Let slope of line CD(xy+1=0)=m1=1

It is given that the angle between AB and CD is 45o

tanθ=m1+m21+m1m2

tan45o=1m21+m2

±1=(1m21+m2)

1=1m21+m2,1=(1m21+m2)

1+m2=1m2 (1+m2)=(1m2)

2m2=0 1m2=1m2

m2=0 2=0 (not possible)

m2=0

Equation of line (yy1)=m(xx1)

(y0)=0(x0)

y=0

To find: Point of intersection of the line with the given line

Put y=0 in the given line equation

x0+1=0

x=1

Point of intersection is (1,0)
