The given line is 3x + y = 3 …… (1)

The slope of line (1) is –3

Slope of the line which is perpendicular to line (1) is 13

Now, equation of the line through the point (2, 2) and perpendicular to line (1) is (y – 2) = 13 (x – 2)

3y – 6 = x – 2

x – 3y + 4 = 0 …… (2)

Its y-intercept =43 . [Putting x = 0 in (2)]
