(a) FRESHWATER: The water fit for human consumption is called freshwater. The freshwater stored in the ground is much more than that present in the rivers and lakes of the world.
(b) RECHARGE: The process of water seeping into the ground is called infiltration. The groundwater thus gets recharged by this process.
(c) AQUIFER: Aquifer is groundwater stored between layers of hard rock below the water table. In other words, the water bearing layer of the earth is called aquifer.
(d) SNOW: Water exists in three forms- solid, liquid and gaseous. Snow is the solid form of water.
