The correct option is B 176 cm2

Given: r = 2 cm ; h = 12 cm

Total area that needs to be painted = Total Surface Area

Total Surface Area = Curved Surface Area+2×Base Area

=2πrh+2πr2

=2πr(h+r)

=2×227×2(12+2)

=447×2×14

=176 cm2

Hence the total area that needs to be painted =176 cm2
