Solution
The correct option is A3145 Given that:
Total number of balls =10
Number of red balls =5
Number of green balls =3
Number of blue balls =2
⇒Total number of ways of selecting 2 balls out of 10 =10C2 =10×92=45
Total number of ways of selecting 2 red balls out of 5 =5C2 =5×42=10
Total number of ways of selecting 2 green balls out of 3 =3C2 =3×22=3
Total number of ways of selecting 2 blue balls out of 2 =2C2=1
Now, find the probability of secting 2 balls of same color
Probability of selecting 2 red balls =1045 =29
Probability of selecting 2 green balls =345 =115
Probability of selecting 2 blue balls =145
⇒ So, probablity of selecting two balls of same color =29+115+145 =10+3+145 =1445
Hence,
Probability of selecting two balls not of same color =1− Probability of selecting two balls of same color =1−1445 =3145
