The lumberjack earns a fixed salary of 50 dollars.

For every peice of wood, he get additional 5 dollars.

Let x be the number of wood pieces.

From the given information,

50 + 5x = 100

5x = 100 - 50

5x = 50

x = 10

Hence, he has to sell 10 pieces of wood to earn 100 dollars.
