Solution

The correct option is C 50 cm

Refraction through convex lens

u=30 cm; f=+20 cm

Using lens formula,

1v1u=1f

1v=120130

v=+60 cm

Image formed by convex lens is at 60 cm on its right and this image acts an object for the convex mirror.

Reflection at convex mirror:

In order to obtain the image formed by the convex mirror at the object's position, the object must be placed on its centre of curvature.

d+R=60

d=6010=+50 cm

Hence, option (c) is correct.
Why this question ?Tip: For spherical mirrors, if object isplaced on its centre of curvature, itsimage coincide with the object itself.
