A magazine charges 40persq.cm area for advertising. A company decided to order a half page advertisement. If each page of the magazine is 16cm×26cm, what amount will the company have to pay for it ?

Step 1: Finding the area of the magazine page.

Area of rectangle = length×breadth

Since we have a need of only half page. So half area we have to calculate.

Half area = l×b2

=16×262=208cm2

Step 2: Finding the amount.

Since the charge for 1cm2 is 40.

So, the total amount which the company has to pay

=40×208=8320

Hence, the total amount paid by the company is 8320.
