Let B1 and B2 be the earth's total magnetic field at the two places.

Frequency of oscillations is given by

where BH is the horizontal component of earth's total magnetic field

f1=12πMB1cosϕ1I and f2=12πMB2cosϕ2I

Here ϕ1=45, ϕ2=30

f1f2=B1cosϕ1B2cosϕ2

B1B2=(f1f2)2cosϕ2cosϕ1

=(50150)2cos30cos45=19×3212

B1:B2=1:36
