A major pest eradicated through the release of sterile males is
An innovative, harmless and pollution free method of pest eradication is one where a a large number of sterile males are released into a population of pests. These sterile males mate with other females and cannot successfully produce offspring. Over time, the population of pests dwindles to managable levels and the sterile males die due to natural causes thereby controlling the outbreak of pests. A good example of this method can be observed with the pest screw worm.
