Question

A man A starts moving east with velocity 6 m/s, another man B starts moving north 30' east with velocity 6m/s. Find velocity of B w. r. t to A

Open in App
Solution

Velocity of Man A= 6i
Velocity of Man B = 6Sin30i + 6Cos30j

Relative velocity = 6i - 6Sin30i - 6Cos30j
= 6i - 3i - 3√3j
= 3i - 3√3j

Magnitude of relative velocity = sqrt(3^2 + (3√3)^2)
= 6 m/s
So velocity of B w.r.t to A is 6m/s.

Hope this helps :)
