Let E1 be the event that man will be selected and E2 be the event that woman will be selected.
P(E1)=14 and P(E2)=13
P(¯E1)=114=34
and P(¯E2)=23
Clearly, E1 and E2 are independent events.
So, P(¯E¯E2)=P(¯E1)×P(¯E2)=34×23=12
