$CP of 1 dozen eggs = Rs 48 CP of 12 eggs = Rs 48 CP of 1 egg = Rs (\frac{48}{12}) = Rs 4.00 CP of 100 eggs = Rs (100 \times 4) = Rs 400 Number of eggs broken = 4 % of 100 = \frac{4}{100} \times 100 = 4 Number of eggs to be sold = 100 - 4 = 96 SP of 1 dozen eggs = Rs 52 SP of 12 eggs = Rs 52 So, SP of 1 egg = Rs (\frac{52}{12}) = Rs (\frac{13}{3}) SP of 96 eggs = Rs (\frac{13}{3} \times 96) = Rs 416 Since SP > CP, so there is a profit . Now, profit = SP - CP = 416 - 400 = Rs 16 Now, profit % = [\frac{profit}{CP} \times 100] % = [\frac{16}{400} \times 100] = 4 %$
