The correct option is B

Let the number of 25 paise stamps be x.

And number of 50 paise stamps be y.

x + y = 25 ….(i)

25x + 50y = 1000

$\Rightarrow$ x + 2y = 40 ….(ii)

On subtracting (i) from (ii)

y = 15

On substituting value of y in (i), we get

x + 15 = 25

$\Rightarrow$ x = 25 – 15 = 10

Number of 25 paise stamps = 10 and

Number of 50 paise stamps = 15
