Solution

Step 1:

Given information:

Dividend on one share=10%

Value of share=Rs.40

Profit=16%

Step 2:

Calculate the price of each share:

Dividend on one share of Rs.40 is computed as,

Dividend=10%ofRs.40Dividend=10100×40Dividend=Rs.4

Let man buy one share of Rs.y.

Profit on one share is,

Profit=16%ofyProfit=16100y

Since, the dividend paid by the company on one share is Rs.4,

16100y=4y=4×10016y=Rs.25

Hence, the man buys each share at Rs.25
