The correct option is A 120 with the direction of flow

To reach at a point directly opposite to A , component of Vbr in the horizontal direction must be equal to Vr in magnitude.
Vbrsinθ=Vr
sinθ=VrVbr=1/2
θ=30
Hence to reach the point directly opposite to the starting point he should head the boat at an angle β=90+30=120 with the river flow.
