The correct option is D 2 seconds after seeing the flash
Given,
Speed of sound, S = 300 m/s
As the speed of light is very very high compared to the speed of sound, the flash of gunshot will reach second man within no time.
According to the question,
Let the distance between the gunshot sound coming from the gun travelling to the cliff and reflecting from the cliff to the second man be D.
From the image, the value of D is 150 + 150 + 300 = 600 m
We know,
Speed = DistanceTime
Therefore,
The time after which the second man will hear the echo of the gunshot from the cliff after he sees the flash = DS = 600300 = 2 s
