A man got a 10% increase in his salary. If his new salary is Rs. 1,54,000, find his original salary.

Let the man salary before increment =x

There is 10% increase in salary =x+(10100)x

=x+0.1x=1.1x

Increased salary =154000

Therefore 1.1x=154000

=1540001.1=1,40,000

the original salary is 1,40,000
