A man has some hens and cows.If the number of heads be 48 and number of feet be 140,how many cows are there?

let x be the number of hens and y be the number of cows.

→given ,number of heads are 48

→x+y=48-----(1)

given, number of legs are 140

we know that hen has 2legs while the Cow has 4 legs

→2x+4y=140

→x+2y=70--(2)

by solving (1) and (2)

y=22..and x=26
