A man invested Rs. 35,000 in 10% Rs. 200 shares quoted at Rs. 120. When the market value of these shares rose to Rs. 150, he sold some shares, just enough to raise Rs. 12,000. Calculate the number of shares he still holds.

Number of shares which he purchased = 35,000120=291.66
Let the number of shares he sold be x,
As per question, 150×x=12000
x=80
Hence, the number of shares he holds = 291.6680=211.66.
