Price of each share = $R s . 50$
Discount on each share = $10 %$ , So the man buys each share for $R s . 50 - R s . 5 = R s . 45$
So, number of shares purchased = total amount invested/amount paid for each share = $22500 / 45 = 500.$
Thus, the man buys a total of $500$ shares.
