Open in App
Solution

Let, the present age of a man =x years
and the present age of his son =y years

According to the question,

x=5y and x+2=4(y+2)

x+2=4(y+2)
5y+2=4y+8
5y4y=82
y=6
Hence, x=5y=5(6)=30
i.e., the present age of a man =30 years
and the present age of his son =6 years
