Let, the present age of a man =x years
and the present age of his son =y years

According to the question,
x=2y and x12=3(y12)

x12=3(y12)
2y12=3y36
3y2y=3612
y=24

Hence, x=2y=2(24)=48


Let, the present age of a man =48 years
and the present age of his son =24 years
