A man $M_{1}$ of mass $80 k g$ runs up a staircase in $15 s$ . Another man $M_{2}$ also of mass $80 k g$ runs up the same staircase in $20 s$ . Find the ratio of the power developed by them.

Solution W = $- W_{g r a v i t y}$ = mg sh
As both persons have same
masses and height of staircase is
same in both cases;
Work by them is also same
we know,
$P = \frac{w}{s t}$
$P_{1} = \frac{w}{15}, P_{2} = \frac{w}{20}$
So, $\frac{P_{1}}{P_{2}} = (\frac{w}{15}) (\frac{w}{20})^{- 1} = \frac{4}{3} = 4 : 3$
