Solution

Concept: 1 Mark
Application: 1 Mark

The volume of the cuboid =5×5×2
The volume of the cube would be =5×5×5

To make it a perfect cube, minimum we need is three 5’s. So we need to add volume so that all sides have dimension 5 cm.

Volume to be added = Volume of desired cube - Volume of present cuboid
=(5×5×5)(5×5×2)
=12550=75

Therefore, the volume to be added to the original cuboid to form a perfect cube is 75 cubic cms.
