In this their is no external force is acting so center of mass of the system will not move so
M1v1+M2v2=0 .... eq1
M1=60kg,M2=20kg,v1=3ms1
60×3+20×v2=0
v2=9ms1
negative sign indicate that trolley move opposite to the direction of the man velocity.
Energy produce by the man is used to give velocity to himself and the trolley
E=12M1v21+12M2v22
E=12×60×32+12×20×92=1.08KJ
Hence the velocity of the trolley is 9ms1 and energy produce by the man is 1.08KJ
