Solution

The correct option is A 2.25% Loss
Let the CP for the first and second scooter be x and y respectively.

For the first scooter,
SP=Rs. 36,000
CP=x
Profit=15%
SPCPCP×100=1536,000xx×100=1536,000x=0.15x1.15x=36,000x=360001.15=7,20,00023
For the second article,
SP=Rs. 36,000
CP=y
Loss=15%
CPSPCP×100=15y36,000y×100=15y36,000=0.15y0.85y=36,000y=36,0000.85=7,20,00017
So, Total SP of the two articles =Rs. 36,000+Rs. 36,000
=Rs. 72,000

Total CP of the two articles =Rs. 7,20,00023+Rs. 7,20,00017
=Rs. 2,88,00,00017×23
=Rs. 73,657.29
The total CP>SP, there is a loss
So,
Loss=CPSPCP×100=73,657.2972,00073,657.29×100=2.25%
