Solution

(i) Let C.P. of the bicycle = Rs. x
Loss = Rs. x10
S.P = C.P - Loss
= xx10
But, we are given S.P. = Rs.405
xx10=405
10xx10 = 405
9x10=405x=405×109
x=40509x=450
C.P. = Rs. 450
(ii) Loss = x10
= 45010
... (Substituting the value of x)
Loss % = LossC.P.×100
= 45450×100=4500450 = 10%
