A man started to dig the ground. As he kept digging deeper and deeper he reached a level where all the spaces between particles of soil and gaps between rocks were filled with water. The upper limit of this layer is called
Water table
Water table, also called Groundwater Table, is the upper level of an underground surface in which the soil or rocks are permanently saturated with water. You will find rocks and soil underneath the water table, just as you will above it. But the ground below a water table contains groundwater, often contained in small pockets and the spaces between the particles of soil.
