The man starts his trip from origin i.e. (0,0) and then he goes 5 units east it means toward the right side of origin on the x-axis, so his location would be (5,0) and then goes 3 units north i.e. above the origin parallel to the y-axis and his coordinate becomes (5,3). After that he moves 10 units west it means he would cross 5 units in the positive side of x axis and then for the remaining 5 units he has to enter the negative side. Therefore, his coordinates becomes (-5, 3). He will lie in the II quadrant.
