Solution

The first installment of the loan is Rs 100.

The second installment of the loan is Rs 105 and so on.

The amount that the man repays every month forms an arithmetic progression.

The A.P. is 100,105,110.

Let the first term and common difference of the A.P. be a and d respectively.

The formula for n th terms in an A.P. is given by,

A n =a+( n1 )d

Substitute the values in the above expression.

A 30 =100+( 301 )×5 =100+29×5 =100+145 =245

Thus, the amount to be paid in the 30 th installment is Rs 245.
