The correct option is A 1.1 km
The given information can be represented as shown in figure.
Therefore the distance from his office to destination can be calculated as:
AE= AD+DE
AD=BC=500 m [rectangle ]
Therefore AE= 500 + 600 = 1100 m= 1.1 km
