A man travels 38 of his journey by train, 35 of its by bus and walks the rest of the distance. If he walks 2km,how much distance did he travel by bus?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1:- To find the total distance

Let 40x be the total distance

Distance travelled by train= =40x×38=15x

Distance travelled by bus ==40x×35=24x

Remaining distance ==40x-(15x+24x)=40x-39x=x

But he walked remaining distance 2kmby walking

x=2

Therefore total distance = =40×2=80km

Step 2:- To find distance travelled by bus

Distance travelled by bus = =35×80km=48km

Therefore, 48km distance travelled by bus.
